GETTING TO ITALY

Naples airport (NAP) is the closest international airport, approximately one hour (60km, 38miles) away from Ravello. Naples airport has non-stop flights from major European hubs (Amsterdam, London, Paris, Munich and Frankfurt), Milan, and Newark airport.

Napoli Centrale is the main train station in Naples, connecting all large Italian cities via a high speed train. Rome (Roma Termini), and Naples (Napoli Centrale) are approximately one hour by train.

GETTING TO RAVELLO

By far the simplest way of getting to Ravello is by booking a transfer from Naples, using a private transport company. The one way transfer will take between 60-80 minutes, and will cost between €100 and €200 (for a sedan).

Ravello can be accessed by two roads. The first is the most famous — the coastal road SS 163 that starts from Sorrento or Salerno. The second is through the Valico Di Chiunzi pass then over the mountains.

FROM AMALFI

Taxis are available in Amalfi’s main piazza at the boat dock/bus station – taxis are approximately €25 - €30 per trip.

The buses from Amalfi leave about every 20-30 minutes and take about 20 minutes to get to Ravello.

FROM POSITANO

If you are traveling with luggage, a car service will be the best option (about an hour drive with coastal traffic)!

If you are looking for a sea experience, ferries operate hourly from Positano’s main boat dock to Amalfi. They are approximately 20-30 mins long. Once in Amalfi you can hop on a bus up to Ravello or taxi.

FROM CAPRI

To get to and from Capri, ferries/boats are required. You can take a ferry from Capri to Amalfi either direct or with a stop in Positano. This trip is about 50 minutes – 1 hour long.

LOCAL BUSES

There are two main types of buses along the Amalfi Coast: SITA Bus (public service bus year-round) and the City Sightseeing Bus (private operator operating from April 15th to October 31st). Plan extra time if you are taking the bus.

SITA Bus Schedule Please Note: The SITA bus schedule changes seasonally.

The SITA bus is the most common access to Ravello because it is least expensive, but it will be very crowded (frequently standing-room-only) during tourist season. If you're leaving from Sorrento, the SITA bus takes a continuous route of about 90 minutes to Amalfi. Once in Amalfi, you buy another ticket and transfer to another SITA bus to get from Amalfi to Ravello.

GETTING AROUND RAVELLO

The town of Ravello is largely pedestrian, with steep, narrow lanes and many flights of stairs. The simplest way of navigating around is by foot, or via a local taxi service. Taxis are available at stands on Piazza Duomo, Gradillo, San Giovanni del Toro, and Castiglione. If you'd like to arrange a shuttle or transport ahead of time, please contact Alessandra.

We would advise against renting a car, because it can be difficult finding a parking spot and the town of Ravello does not allow cars in most places.
